My Bio
Hello Lovelies!
My name is Addison Dione Post. Born and raised in the heart of Music City, Nashville Tennessee. Needless to say music has always been a huge part of my life, I was able to attend Nashville School of the Arts for my high school career which opened my eyes to a lot of things that most kids don’t experience and I am thankful for that. For ten years I have played violin, and I’ve been singing since I was in my crib at two years old, and dancing as soon as I could figure out my coordination enough to walk. My love for Modeling and Photography, though, did begin to develop until I was a senior in high school.
My mother was always a dreamer and seemed to try and live vicariously through me. I didn’t mind it though; I was quite young. I frequently went to small casting calls, performed in talent contests, did photo shoots, and even tried out for the motion picture “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”, and made it to fourth round callbacks. Shortly after I turned eight my parents split up and I become Woman of the house with my Drill Sergeant Daddy and my two amazing little brothers. It wasn’t always easy by any means, but we did what we had to; to get by.
I grew up attending the same church my entire young life, the biggest Nazarene church in Nashville. Through that type of lifestyle growing up I learned things like criticism, trying to be better than the person next to you, attempting to reach unattainable goals, and fearing a God who didn’t think you were awesome, but would smite you for saying a dirty word or kissing a boy. Through the world of the arts though, I re-learned how to use the set of eyes I was gifted with. Instead of tearing other people down for how they spoke or how they dressed, everyone was appreciated. It was so awesome to hear, “You know I wouldn’t have taken that angle for this painting, but now that I look closer I admire your vision!” I had never heard such kind and accepting words in my life. And as my time at Nashville School of the Arts went on, I learned to appreciate everything and everyone for what they see. I know not everyone is like me, and I accept that.
In the last three years I have been able to do a lot more with Photography and Modeling, and I love every second of it. If someone can look at a Photo I took, or even one that someone else took of me, and see the story that I’m trying to get across whether its extreme anguish or delight, those are mini glimpses of triumph for me as an artist. Because I’ve been able to explore both sides of the medium by being involved in front of and behind the camera, I am learning to grasp everything that it takes to make these stories come to life in the minds of even the most un-creative people I know! And that isn’t to insult at all! They are probably wonderful mathematicians; where I am severely lacking.
The most recent pieces of inspiration for me recently have been things like my mother finally pulling from the darkness of addictions, and learning how to live and grow on my own, as well as getting to know amazing people such as Johnny and Brix Nobody. Through my ex-boyfriend I met Johnny and though my ex-boyfriend and I don’t spend ample amount of time with the Nobody’s, they are still very dear to me, Johnny has been an amazing friend and mentor to both my ex-boyfriend and myself. Through him I was able to get in contact with Allen Manus (PE Photography) and my thirst for a deeper understanding of Alternative modeling has evolved in me.
My vision for pursuing my career as an alternative model is to show my generation that it is Beautiful to be tattooed, and talkative, and your body is something to be respected, not abused. I would like for people to look at my photography and say, “I wish I could be a strong respected woman like she is, she’s so awesome.” I choose To make a statement to the World, “I am a strong beautiful Woman, who demands respect and also gives respect.”
